HUNTINGTON BEACH, California (Saturday, July 31, 2010) – The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) US Open Junior Pro presented by Pacsun kicked off the nine-day marathon event at South Huntington Beach Pier by cutting the men’s ASP Pro Junior field in half from 64 surfers to 32 with Tanner Hendrickson (Maui, HI), 18, and Miguel Pupo (Sao Paulo, BRA), 18, posting the day’s top scores while Laura Enever led the women’s US Open Junior Pro Presented by Pacsun action as the Semifinalists were decided in two-to-three foot (1 metre) surf. 40 of the world’s best park riders landed in Spain last month for the Nike 6.0 BCN BMX PRO. Heavy hitters in the lineup included Nike 6.0 riders Garrett Reynolds, Dennis Enarson, Mike Spinner and Jason Phelan alongside the likes of Gary Young, Ryan Nyquist, Drew Bezanson, Brett Banasiewicz and a list of quality park contenders.
